Malk’s dedicated Solutions team was formed to improve and scale Malk’s processes, products, and deliverables.
Job Description
The Service Innovation Specialist will play a critical role on our Solutions team. Under the direction of the Service Innovation Senior Manager, you will work with a wide-ranging group of stakeholders (e.g., senior leadership, mid-level/junior employees, external vendors/partners) to improve processes (i.e., to drive efficiency and quality, e.g., AI-enablement) and develop new product/service offerings (e.g., ESG regulatory, ESG value creation, new diligence types). You will be responsible for managing projects from idea generation through execution. This is an ideal role for someone who is both a visionary and executor, as well as someone who wants to gain exposure across the full breadth of Malk’s verticals and ESG services. The Service Innovation Specialist will report into the Service Innovation Senior Manager and have regular exposure to the SVP, Solutions.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple concurrent projects, including longer-term (i.e., months-long), multi-stakeholder projects
- Collaborate with stakeholders at both SLR and Malk across verticals (Private Equity, Growth Equity, Private Credit, Multi-Strategy, Value Creation, Monitoring, Data) and levels (senior leadership, mid-level/junior employees), as well as with external vendors/partners
- Develop internal processes, tools, and resources to drive efficiency and quality (e.g., AI-enablement tools, updates to Malk’s ESG issue areas)
- Develop new product/service offerings, including design of underlying processes, supporting tools, deliverable templates, fictitious deliverables for business development purposes, etc.
- Collaborate with delivery team on client-facing projects for new product types
- Develop training resources and guidance (e.g., memos, primers) for internal up-skilling on new processes, products, etc. and lead trainings
- Institutional knowledge development, including ongoing research on ESG best practices, updates, and market trends to inform ongoing process enhancements and business development opportunitie
- Support Service Innovation Senior Manager on Solutions strategy development
- Support on other Solutions projects, as directed
Qualifications
- 3-4+ years of professional experience
- Foundational ESG knowledge, including industry and regulatory frameworks (TCFD, SFDR, California’s SB-261/253)
- Proactive work style: ability to up-skill quickly and independently on a diverse array of processes and ESG topics
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and bring clarity and structure to complex problems
- Creative thinking: ability to design novel, fit-for-purpose processes and products/services
- Experience (or strong aptitude) for creating working tools (i.e., in Excel, within software or AI platforms)
- Experience (or strong aptitude) in becoming an “expert” on technology/software platforms and integrating these with delivery and operational processes
- Experience with generative AI platforms (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot), preferably including skills in prompt development and agent building
- Strong skills in project and stakeholder management; communication; writing; presentation, deliverable, and training/guidance development
- Interest in innovation, process and systems-building, and deep diving on ESG research
Compensation & Location
- Location: New York; Hybrid model: In-Office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
- Compensation: $95-100K
